DEFORMATION MONITORING OF THE STRUCTURES OF THE STEEL ROOF OF A SWIMMING POOL
DOI: 10.17804/2410-9908.2024.6.152-162 This paper reports a long-term experience of using an intelligent deformation monitoring system for the steel structures of the roof of two blocked buildings of a sports complex with swimming pools, as well as the operating problems. The steel structures of the trussed roof were affected by various adversities during construction and operation, which created a history of the formation of a complex strain state of the facility. The system of intelligent deformation monitoring, together with mathematical simulation methods, organized in 2012 and put into operation a little later, made it possible to monitor the strain state of the complex object for many years. However, long-term measurements of the reference parameters of a structure by means of various sensors are associated with a number of known problems. One of them is the degradation of sensitive measuring elements, particularly, strain gauges. The paper proposes a method developed by the staff of the ICMM, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and tested on a full-scale object, which enabled the degrading measuring elements of the monitoring system to be detected and differentiated without disrupting its operation.
