USING A SPATIAL LOCATION DEVICE FOR EXPRESS DIAGNOSTICS OF CURRENT MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF METAL STRUCTURES

The paper surveys a device for the spatial location of portable hardness meters, preparation and visual testing tools on a surface to be tested in order to study mechanical characteristics in situ. The design of the spatial location device is described. An experiment is shown to exemplify the application of the spatial location device incorporated in an “Indentor” mobile automated measuring-computing complex (MCC) implementing a direct method of hardness testing – the in-situ method of kinetic indentation into objects to be tested.
